As children reach the age of three, parents and guardian are asked to choose between an extended Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or an Individualized Education Program (IEP). What’s the difference between the two? And what should you consider to make the best choice for your child? This session will give participants the opportunity to discuss these questions and to hear the experience of others. In addition, participants will have time to consider how to prepare for the eventual transition to an IEP and be an effective advocate for their children. This session will be presented by Ms. Jillian Berman. For nearly a decade, Ms. Berman has been a teacher and service coordinator with Baltimore County Infants and Toddlers Program. She has also been on faculty with Johns Hopkins University School of Education for the last six years and a parent advocate to her children.
We are meeting in the parlor room. Light dinner will be served at 6:30pm. Presentation begins at 7pm. Free on-site parking.
