we can never underestimate the impact of this incredible event, both in terms of community celebration but also in the impact that it has all year round for the over 2200 individuals who have Down syndrome in the region and their families. Funds raised go directly to provide support and information for the local Down syndrome community through outreach and events. As a result of the success of last year’s walk, CDSPG was able to directly reach over 1500 individuals through 42 events in addition to all the support and communication that happens on an ongoing basis - whether we are welcoming a new family to the community, providing our families’ perspective to doctors and geneticists about how to best give a diagnosis, giving our families great activities to meet and support each other, or hosting educational workshops on IEPs and financial planning – it ALL has a powerful impact on the families in the local area.
Because of you, adults and children with Down syndrome in central Maryland continue to receive the support they need!
